Below is the complete list of new features and fixes to each version of Motovator.

  • Version 2.8
    • Released August 13th 2008
    • New features
      • Run Motovator on a PC/laptop. Follow the instructions in the User Guide on connecting PocketPC and downloading/installing Motovator PC Launcher (User Guide: Motovator on PC)
        • Analyze split- and laptimes in full screen
        • Replay session in full screen, including background aerial/satellite images and lots of shortcut keys to control zooming, playback, perfect laps etc.
        • Export session to Google Earth, to visualize race lines in "the real world"

      • The term Finish Line Split is introduced, which pretty much just is a property to distinguish the split matching the finish line on the track from the other splits.         • Custom replay of section from A to B, which will color individual laps according to performance (User Guide: Analyze > Replay > Custom Section Replay > A to B)

        • Compare Laps, with just three clicks you can add one or more Lap Comparisons, which will tell difference in time and distance between the selected laps, and automatic recalculate this information when you move back/forward in time (User Guide: Analyze > Replay > Compare Laps)
        • Simple measurement of distance between two points on the map. Includes time if two laps are clicked. (User Guide: Analyze > Replay > Compare Laps)

      • New options for information in session (User Guide: Settings > Simple > Session display | Settings > Simple > Session display > Advanced)
        • LastSplitTimeComparedToBestCustom, which compares last split time to the previously best split time during the user-selectable period
        • LastLapTimeComparedToBestCustom, which does the same as above, just for lap times
        • TimeSoFarComparedToBestCustom, which displays time elapsed getting to current lap/split (lap X, split Y), compared to the previously fastest time getting to the same point (lap X, split Y) during the user-selected period
        • LastLapTimeComparedToFixed, which compares last lap time to a user-defined fixed target lap time
      • Customizable colors for comparisions, including tolerances for best and same times, so you i.e. receives a yellow color telling that you are within 2.0 seconds of your best time (User Guide: Settings > Simple > Session display > Advanced)
    • Improvements
      • Session/Analyze: Speeded loading of comparision data up by approximately 3-500%
      • General: All date and time values are now stored as UTC.
    • Fixes
      • Session Map: First 10 positions received in session is now also filtered from map. Some bluetooth devices has a habit of reporting the first position after turned on as the last position received before turned off, which in most cases would make the map very, very small.
      • Analyze: Selected split number, comparision type and graph max is now persisted when selecting other sessions in analyze. Previously, selecting another session would reset these.
      • Analyze: Fixed date and time of edited session to display correctly in overview and details. If the time and date of session was edited, it would previously not have been shown in the analyze overview and details.

  • Version 2.3
    • New features
      • Improved support for bluetooth GPS receivers
        • Allow GPS receiver to be connected to any of COM 0-9 ports
        • Auto-start bluetooth communication on PocketPC when GPS receiver is connected via bluetooth
      • Speeded generation of map - when clicking Replay in Analyze - up by approximately 500%
      • Status progress when saving session
    • Fixes
      • Selected track is now always visible in list of tracks. If you renamed a track, it could be moved outside the visible part of the list of tracks.
      • Selecting a different Session Display Profile is now perfomed correctly. Selecting another Session Display Profile in Settings, would result in lacking updates of the lines of information not matching the ones present in the first selected Session Display Profile.
      • Background color of labels in Session Display are now reset when starting a new Session. They would previously not be reset when starting a new Session, so they would start out with the same color as they ended with in the previous session.
      • Background color of labels in Session Display now displays the current info. Since version 2.2 they would have been one update behind, meaning they would display the previous lap-/splittime comparision instead of the current one...
      • Lap-/splittime is displayed as "-" in Session Display when there is no valid lap-/splittime. This would previously have been rendered as "0.0" in an active Session.

  • Version 2.2
    • New features
      • Set background and border color of OneLine SessionDisplay to any of the better/worse comparisions (User Guide: Settings > Simple > Session display)
    • Fixes
      • Auto-start clock settings are now saved correctly. You could have experienced speed threshold always being reset to 5 kph when entering Settings.
      • License date is now saved correctly. You could have received messages that Motovator was unlicensed, even though you entered the correct License Key.
      • Default Session Display is saved correctly. If you added a second Session Display without saving the Default, it would overwrite the Default.
      • Session Displays are reloaded when database is changed. If you picked another database, the list of Session Displays would not be updated to reflect the ones in the new database.

  • Version 2.1
    • New features
      • Auto-start clock in Session when speed exceeds X kph for Y seconds (User Guide: Settings > Advanced)
